3D Views Mark

A struck silver coin for a view-count milestone.

These are made of real geometry rather than of a picture of it — extruded letters and solids with a material, a light rig and a camera, all of it editable. It is the one thing a stock clip cannot give you: a rendered file of a gold logo turning is somebody else's gold logo, and changing the metal or the word means having the scene.

How this one is built

3D Views Mark is built from 3 text layers and 1 3D layer, using a shape extruded in silver under studio light and a shadow 20 pixels deep. Its colours are white and near-black. Type is set in Inter.

The coin 3D scales up at 0.4s, the count rises into place at 1.1s, the note rises into place at 1.3s, the handle rises into place at 1.4s. The whole run is 6s at 60 frames a second.

It sits through the middle of the frame of a 16:9 composition, spanning about 29% of the width at 549×679 pixels.
