Ribbon Fold

How this one is built

Ribbon Fold is built from 2 shapes and 2 text layers, using a red-to-deep red gradient and a shadow 60 pixels deep. Its colours are near-black, red, deep red and white. Type is set in Inter.

The ribbon scales up at 0.2s, the channel name slides in at 0.3s, the fold fades up at 0.4s, the role slides in at 0.4s. The whole run is 6s at 60 frames a second.

It sits along the lower edge to the left of a 16:9 composition, spanning about 23% of the width at 445×173 pixels.

What to do with it

• Make it yoursChange the words, the colours and the timing without breaking the animation that was built for the shape.
• Export it with transparencyWhich format your editor actually reads, and why a black rectangle behind your graphic means the wrong one was chosen.
• Keep it out of the controlsA lower third lives in exactly the strip the player takes back whenever somebody touches the screen.
• YouTube Lower Third MakerBuild your own name plate from nothing, sized for the screen most of your audience watches on.
• What exporting costsOpening this template, changing it and watching it back are free. Getting the finished file out is $5 once for this project, or a plan if you make them often.
